GlassGambler Principles

Decisions made while thinking clearly are protected from decisions made while emotional.

That sentence is the entire product. Everything below explains how it's applied, and exactly how far enforcement reaches today.

A commitment is made once, while you're clear-headed

Every limit in GlassGambler is written before a session, not during one. That's the whole design: the version of you deciding is the calm one, and the version of you playing inherits the decision instead of renegotiating it.

The app enforces, it doesn't advise

GlassGambler doesn't guess what a sensible limit is for you, and it doesn't nudge you toward playing more or less. It holds the boundaries you defined, exactly as you wrote them, everywhere it currently has control — your account and every device you sign in from.

Loosening is hard; tightening is always easy

Raising a limit, shortening a commitment period or overriding a stop is deliberately slow and never available mid-session. Making a commitment stricter works instantly, from any device, at any time.

Obligations come before play

Money you've earmarked for bills or for something you promised yourself is ring-fenced. Once you're ahead by enough to cover it, that amount stops being available to play with. It's a commitment to the rest of your life, enforced in the same way as any other.

Discipline is the outcome we measure — not money

Your Shield reflects commitments that held, not sessions you won. It moves when you leave at the point you chose beforehand, when protected money stayed protected, when a pause ran its course — whether the night finished up or down. It never moves because of money won. If something happened outside what we can currently enforce, that is a gap in our coverage for us to close, not a mark against you.

Restrictions are stated plainly, never hidden

When a commitment is active, the app says precisely what you can and can't do, why it applies, and exactly when it ends. There are no surprise restrictions and no secret timers.

This is not encouragement to gamble

GlassGambler exists for adults of legal gambling age who have already decided to play and want their own boundaries respected. It doesn't promote gambling, suggest games, or present gambling as a way to make money.

Enforcement reach is stated exactly, and it is expanding

GlassGambler is being built to physically enforce your precommitted exposure across the platforms and devices you gamble on. Today it enforces on your account and every device you sign in from, server-side; a self-exclusion, once started, cannot be shortened or lifted. For an operator we haven't built a connector for, direct operator enforcement is not yet active — a coverage boundary and the top of the engineering roadmap (operator connectors, payment controls, device and browser blocking), not a philosophical retreat. Until those land, operator self-exclusion and blocking software extend your wall further today; they're listed on the help page.

Coverage & enforcement status

What GlassGambler enforces right now

The enforcement envelope is stated exactly, and it is expanding. Everything marked enforced is held server-side by GlassGambler, across every device you sign in from, and a self-exclusion once started cannot be shortened or lifted by anyone, including you. Everything marked in build is a coverage boundary we are closing — not an exception to your commitment.

If gambling has stopped feeling like a choice

Commitment enforcement is not a substitute for support. Crisis lines, counsellors and self-exclusion tools are on the help page, or email glasscannonlee@gmail.com and talk to a person.
